3. Skipping meals or snacks

Add in things like popcorn at the movies or that quick bag of chips out the door, and your waistline will balloon. Salt also causes your body to retain water, so if you want to show off your 6-pack abs, eating a bunch of salt will kill that idea.

5. Bargain on the weekends

People often use their weekends as ‘down time’, and understandably so, as a hectic work week drains you mentally and physically. The downside is that people relax “too much” and allow themselves to snack and get away. This is especially true when you’re going to a barbeque with the neighbors, a birthday party, or just hanging out. How many times do you go to parties and “graze”. You walk around the food court picking up food, but over time all those calories add up and before you know it…BOOM you’re full. Eat something healthy before going to a party and it will help keep that bad food at bay.

6. Eating in front of the TV – Sleep

Everyone is guilty of this. You’re trying to relax after a hard day at the office, your favorite show is on, or you’ve just put on your favorite blue ray disc and you’ve got that bag of chips in your lap. Before you know it, half the bag is gone, the 2 beers you drank are empty, and you’re off to bed. Your body needs at least 2 hours awake after your last meal. Your body is naturally burning calories, even just sitting there. By being awake, your body burns calories to maintain your organs, walking, breathing, etc… So eat your last meal around 7-8pm. in the evening and at 10 pm you can start going to bed. If you fall asleep after eating, all the calories you just consumed won’t burn as quickly.
