Load your plate with low-calorie, high-fiber vegetables and you’ll feel full for hours and won’t be tempted to grab a late-night snack. That alone is a BIG step on the fastest way to weight loss!
3. Lower your “white” carbs and increase protein – White carbohydrates (breads, pasta, rice, sweets) cause a dramatic rise in insulin when consumed, which has the side effect of keeping fat stores around the body instead of burning them for energy. Instead, try to make protein the focus of every meal and vegetables as your side dish. Never have a white carb after 8pm, make it a rule!
4. Slow down when at the table – A simple rule my Asian mother taught me when I was a girl growing up in Taiwan was to take a bite, put down my chopsticks or utensils as I chewed the food, swallow it, then pick up the chopsticks or utensils for another a bite. Surprisingly, this is still one of my fastest weight loss methods that I lecture my clients on because when timed with a watch, most of them eat their entire meal in less than 6 minutes! Slow down your pace by just 20-30% and you’ll find that you can eat far more calories per meal without them turning into fat.
5. Wear your walking shoes – Make walking a fun habit. Just 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes after dinner will cause huge increases in your metabolism, allowing you to burn around 200-300 calories of fat during the day. Asian women find walking to be one of our fastest weight loss tips, it’s so powerful when we do it every day. In addition, it allows you to enjoy nature and the environment, which calms you down and at the same time reduces stress.
