9-11 Five Years Later
Five years ago today, our great nation of freedom was attacked by a select group of Islamic extremists. September 11, 2011 was the first time since Pearl Harbor that an attack on American soil on such a massive scale had taken place. It was an atrocity against every American citizen whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or of any other faith, it was an attack to take away your freedom… an attack on your right to choose your way of life, your way of life and yes, prosperity you.
On that day Americans of all faiths came together as one, as one nation and as the old saying goes, “United we stand, divided we fall.” We were strong in the & weeks after 9/11. We stood tall, hand in hand together as an unshakable beacon of freedom and I have never been more proud to be an American than I was then. Everywhere I went my eyes caught the old glory flying proud after years of being hidden by ignorance or perhaps lack of faith in the leadership of the nation that the old glory represents.
And then the common unity we shared went to hell in a big hand basket.
Atrocities happen, and the backlash against the war on terror has proven that even Americans can be guilty of cold, calculated ideas and motives that would bring shame to any person who loves true freedom. From the leadership of the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, Cindy Sheehan, and even the Dixie Chicks, everyone has spewed anti-war rhetoric and brought terrible shame upon themselves and shown their true motives at times.
Cindy Sheehan’s son Casey was a hero who served his nation bravely in the war on terror and did so with honor and was proud to serve his nation. Casey was proud to bring freedom to a part of the world that had never really known life outside of a dictatorship, and it’s people like Casey who make the war on terror a just fight that freedom will not lose. His mother on the other hand did nothing but shame Casey’s memory, she disrespected the man who dreamed of a better world, where freedom and democracy are not a rare breed confined to a few nations.
Cindy Sheehan is using her son’s death to reinforce her own politically biased views, to drive them home while cursing her son’s name…What kind of mother would do that Mrs. Sheehan? Would my mother attack me after I die, or attack the right to freedom I died trying to preserve for a new generation of Iraqi citizens? No, he wouldn’t, because my mother would know that I died doing what I felt was best for our world, and she would be proud of the stand I took.
The war on terror is not and will never be about a single nation. It is a war against bad men, bad women and bad thoughts that would run the whole world with hate if they had the chance. These people we are fighting would kill most of us without a moment’s hesitation and yet even the so called leaders of our nation struggle to protect their hatred of freedom, Jews or any person not of the extreme Islamic faith . There is really something wrong with this image, especially when our appointed leadership starts favoring terrorists over the war on terror. The war on terror should never be about political bias, yet it has become just that and not just in the hands of politicians but in the hands, minds and lives of everyday American citizens who have seemingly forgotten what it felt like to realize we were under attack . It wasn’t New York or Washington DC that came under savage attack, but each of us and our freedoms that were under siege by Evil, mentally unstable men.
What makes matters worse are those Americans who see the entire 9-11 ordeal as nothing more than a massive conspiracy, claiming that President Bush ordered the attacks and claiming that no planes were used, that the United States military had instead ‘ of this missiles to attack our own nation. When confronted with the missing persons aboard these planes, the response quickly went to the government holding them in a secret detention area, to which they would never be released. As much as I want to find out the truth in events, places and while it has been proven that the government did in fact cover up some elements of the September Eveleth attacks… it was nothing that awful. I will admit that I was involved with Unexplained Mysteries even at that date, it made me more aware of what could be going on and that it does. I used to think that President Bush actually created terror in the United States of America. This sentiment persisted for several months, and while I am still uncertain that George W. Bush did not order the initial strike on our own Nation to bolster his presidency, I did not and never have believed that trash lied that the nut (Radical ) conspiratorial orifice.
These radicals are no better than the terrorists who attacked us on 9-11-2001 in my opinion. The pain people like Alex Jones and those who believe his gall told beliefs causes the families who suffered great loss on September 11, 2001, even more grief when they should be in as much of a healing process as possible.
There is a time and place for conspiracies when hard facts are represented or when someone has knowledge of a specific fact that the government denies exists. To be taken seriously, you need to weigh the facts, be self-aware, and create an atmosphere where they can be taken as seriously as possible and not look like either a publicity-seeking whore, or a mentally incompetent person. The field of searching for unexplained mysteries and alternative debates is no different from that of daily News Media, as we should never create news, instead it is our serious duty to provide only real cases, facts. Some in this field believe that there aren’t enough real unexplained mysteries in the world, so they decide to create a buzz by deciding that something happened and reporting it as fact, not their opinion, but fact.
Regardless of which side of the fence you stand on, I want you to remember the thousands who were murdered in cold blood, brutally murdered while living their lives, working, or even heading elsewhere on one of the doomed planes. Before you complain about the war on terror, remember 9/11 and keep the images of that fateful day in your mind and heart. To quote a song, where were you when the world stopped turning that September day?
Do we need to know the tragedy once again? Must thousands more die on American soil before our nation can be reunited? If another 9/11 or worse is what it takes to unite Americans and make us proud of our nation, if our patriotic symbolism is based not on the idealism of freedom but on the idealism of terrorist attacks on our nation… then may god help us all because we will all perish because of a childish feud between the so called leaders of the United States of America who will never agree to anything until it is too late… who will then be held responsible for the deaths of Maybe millions innocent lives?
The answer is simple. Each of us will have the blood of the next victims of a terrorist attack on our hands. We decide how our leaders act, how they vote. If you are sick and tired of the kids running the nation into the ground, then stand up and do something about it. Otherwise, don’t cry for the millions of lives that may die next week, next month, next year, or even two years down the line because of disagreements between leaders who don’t understand the concept of leadership…instead, cry alone you and your loved ones may know this horrible fate if that day comes.
Before any of you jump the gun and spew your useless rhetoric – I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. I don’t believe that American society should ever be based on one’s own selfish political motives, but on what is right versus wrong. It’s that simple, life is that simple – right vs wrong. Common sense is all that is needed and yet it seems that so many leaders on both party lines lack common sense.
I’ll end this with a simple statement:
United we stand proud and divided we will eventually fall.
