Facts About Third Trimester Pregnancy Weeks

The pregnancy weeks of the third trimester, starting at week 27 and lasting until week 40, are the most exciting. You have a lot to learn and experience in this last stage of pregnancy.

Let’s take a look at each week of the last trimester, also known as the baby stage during pregnancy, for a better understanding.

The 27th Week

Your baby’s brain, eyes and lungs are developing. You have a very large belly, which makes it almost impossible for you to sleep on your back. It’s a good idea to get a pregnancy diary.

The 28th week

Your baby can hear sounds from the outside world. It is also able to recognize your voice now. So start talking to her! The not so pleasant side of this week is that you may experience indigestion, gas, back pain, skin rashes and constipation at this time. You may also gain some extra pounds.

The 29th week

All five of your baby’s senses are working now. This is when your baby gains the chubby fat that gives him that adorable cuteness! Other than that, be prepared for extreme mood swings and strong food cravings.

The 30th Week

Your baby may be blinking now. You may not feel like sleeping as your baby puts pressure on your back nerves and blood vessels. Try sleeping on your side using comfortable pillows for support.

The 31st week

By now, you have a baby growing inside of you. You may experience pain in your back and abdomen due to the stretching of the ligaments. This is the time to see your doctor to check for calcium deficiency.

The 32nd week

Your baby now weighs around 3.5kg. This is a difficult week for you as you will feel exhausted, constipated and your back pain will not let you sleep. You will also be anxious about your due date. Talking to your doctor or partner will put you at ease.

The 33rd Week

Your baby is a lovely shade of pink and has gotten plumper! Her tiny head has grown a little more. You may experience problems such as water retention, severe headaches, swelling of the hands and face, and cramps. It is best to keep in touch with your doctor at this stage of pregnancy development.

The 34th week

Be prepared for false labor contractions. Take deep breaths or change position. The contractions will disappear.

The 35th Week

You can actually feel your baby moving inside your womb!

The 36th Week

Your baby is ready to come out. It’s time to get ready for delivery.

The 37th week

You start to get nesting syndrome, which makes you do strange things at this stage like cleaning out your wardrobe, rearranging furniture and more!

The 38th week

The baby changes position and its head is ready to come out. Labor can start at any time!

The 39th week

Your baby is 7kg and ready to come.

The 40th Week

Finally, you are about to deliver!

The third trimester pregnancy week is over and your bundle of joy is now in your arms!
