The Due Diligence Concept: A Six Month Journey To High Rankings On The Internet

If you want people to visit you in a new home, wouldn’t you let them know you’ve moved and give them your new address? Why would it be any different with your online business? We’d all be able to figure out what to do if we were in a brick-and-mortar location, but for some reason, when it involves the Internet, common sense takes a backseat and people rely on some faith that it exists a web mechanism that takes care of all of this. I hate to break it to you, but you are that mechanism.

So, because I’ve heard this story over and over again, I thought it was time to create a concept that everyone can follow and give them hope for a positive future on the web.

When you’re finally online, you automatically assume there’s not a single human being on earth who knows you’re there. Let me clarify that; except for the relatives or friends you emailed your web address to, no one knows or cares that you’re there. Face it as absolute reality. Now that you have a website with what you believe to be some great and interesting offers, and you’ve done your work to ensure that a properly constructed Search Engine Optimization explains everything clearly and creatively, and that Your awesome and catchy slogans that you want to be associated with your business are really great and catchy, what more can you do? You believe you’ve done an incredibly good job up to this point, but have you thought about what you’re going to do to market yourself? Have you thought about how you will tell people who and where you are? Have you thought about rankings, social media, links, engagement with potential customers? Something like that? Of course you have; but you have no idea where to start. It’s not just you, it’s everyone.

If you had a store in a mall or were on a high street, you would create an advertising budget. So why should it be any different now that your business is online? Consider yourself lucky. You don’t have to think about how much it would cost to produce and run print ads or create a broadcast campaign or even plan a direct mail effort. These numbers can run into many, many dollars measured in the hundreds of thousands. You certainly aren’t burdened by high rent, staffing, utilities, signage, and the long list of necessary costs that contribute to the day-to-day operations of a brick-and-mortar entity. All you have to worry about is how to get people to visit your site. This is. Because if you’re confident in your site’s ability to sell, you’re probably looking at a winner.

There are so many Facebook members on both desktop and mobile that if you put them all together, it would be at least the third largest in the world population. So, given the unscientific statement that everyone everyone knows is on Facebook, it doesn’t take a marketing genius to assume that among them you will find thousands of customers for your business. They are most important to your overall effort in the beginning, and their variety of Facebook ad structures can prove to be most beneficial. As an aside, if you take the time to digest the raison d’etre of Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and literally hundreds of others, you’ll find that you can target almost any demographic worldwide with posts and a variety of proprietary advertising structures they offer to provide you with hundreds of places to target customers worldwide. These are side benefits that you can integrate into your schedule, but of course Facebook is the second most important and should continue to work alongside Craigslist.

More things you can integrate into your schedule while you are focused are Craigslist and Facebook, would also be free PR organizations and article distribution sites like EzineArticles. You have the opportunity to professionally announce your latest updates to the world, turning yourself into an Ezine authority, providing a resource where others can look to the guidance you freely provide. Creativity will also show throughout your out-of-the-box thinking as it relates to creating new labels within your category that identify you and make you stand out from the competitive pack.

The competition will copy what you do if your searches are successful, so it’s important to occasionally reconfigure what you’re doing and stay ahead of the results. Come up with new additions to tags, new additions to ideas, and new additions to ads that expand on your original concept and constantly stay ahead of the game. I say “add” because you never want to abandon the successful things that got you to where you are at that point. Although there is a theory that integrating keywords and phrases into your category that have been widely published as the most popular will do you good in the long run. Also remember that using the full features of Craigslist and Facebook takes some time and understanding. On Facebook you will need to create a page identity that parallels your website and you will also need to link to your website.
